NFF Confirms Kaduna As Venue For Super Eagles – Libya Clash

By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:

Completeportsnigeria.com can confirm that the October 13 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya will hold at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna

This is contrary to reports that Super Eagles coach Genot Rorh had rejected the stadium on the premise that the venue is too small to host the crowd pulling national team.

“I want to inform you that there is no issue about the venue for our match against Libya because we have decided to play at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna. Coach Rohr is satisfied with the facilities he inspected and he did not reject it as reported,” a reliable source at the NFF told CSN.

“We have informed CAF that the venue of the match with Libya will be Kaduna and we are not going back on that.

“What ever flaws observed during the inspection of the stadium will be put in place before the end of the month.”

Libya current top the Group E of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers with four points after two rounds of games. They are ahead of South Africa who also have four points on goal difference. Nigeria occupy the third position on four points, while Seychelles bring up the rear without any point.

  • For the love of God why Kaduna?
Has there been any improvement to the bad pitch we saw the last time this team played there?
Simply because we lost to south Africa in Uyo is not a reason to take the team to another venue.

Whats up with my darling National Stadium, Abuja?
I really miss watching us play there

  • Oakfield 3 years ago

What has happened to the newly built masterpiece in Uyo? Y must everthing in this country be politicized? To the best of my knowledge, the uyo stadium is the best we have at the moment. We mustn’t always do things to please a certain class of people. The right thing ought to be done regardless of personal and tribal interests.

Kaduna again, is over guys. I can smell sabotage from somewhere.

    • Yes they want the team to fail evil people. Useless sport minister foolish man let him come to Europe he will come home dead.

  • Mr. Jidauna, G.G 3 years ago

What is wrong with the Uyo pitch? In a very dicey match that Nigeria need nothing short of a win and they are taking the match to Kaduna.
Very well, somebody in the NFF should be prepared to take the blame, but not the coach if it goes south on match day.!

Confused people. No AFCON for you again this time around.

Keshi failed. Siasia failed. Oliseh failed. You brought a white man and he is also going to fail because Libya is on top.

If you like take the match to Niger and Gabon where your coach came from. You will still struggle.

    • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

I can see you are still suffering from your 11 against 10 defeat to Marathon known Kenya. So it definitely affecting your sense of reasoning. Keshi failed but got the AFCON 2013, SIA-SIA failed but got us Rio 2016 bronze medals. Coach Gernot Rohr came took us out of the Group of Death in the qualifying rounds and we went to the World Cup while the Charcoaled Country-Ghana didn’t even qualify. Kindly tell me when was the last time GHANA won a major TOURNAMENT??? So, who are the failures? Your Charcoaled country coaches of course.

      • @Chairmanfemi, why are you so gullible? You are only playing into this guy’s hands.
He has come to this forum with a clear agenda which is to make outrageous claims, blindly criticise and mock the Super Eagles at every given opportunity.
The only reason why he does this is to provoke mass reactions. When you react, he will read your reactions and be there laughing his head off.
        The guy is really unwell.
Do not sink yourself to his level, you are better than that.
The more people who ignore him, the less you feed into his deluded sense of humour of this guy who sooner, rather than later, will be admitted to a mental asylum.
Don’t let it surprise you if he turns out to be a Nigerian, a sick Nigerian.

    • Ghana is a nation?or what

  • which one is gaduna again? where be kaduna again ooh.

  • They re out again, the sport minister want the team to fail so that he can hit the nnf president why kaduna this time this leaders dont care about the interest of the people all they care for is their personnel interest.they want to sabotage this team is very clear now, foolish leaders.

Pls, nobody on dis forum shld respond to that pig, ghanaboy. He’s just seeking attention. Too much banku has entered his brain.

  • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with the Kaduna stadium. The pitch is fantastic compared to many pitches in Nigeria. It might not be the biggest of stadiums in terms of capacity, but I know for sure that it has a really good pitch. The Uyo stadium is currently under maintenance and won’t be ready until the end of October. Hence the reason to move the match to Kaduna.

    • Haymaker 3 years ago

Thanks Ay for the information. I was wondering why Uyo was not chosen.

  • Kaduna stadium was just recently renovated so no problem with the pitch.my only fear is the capacity.

    • Haymaker 3 years ago

Don’t worry, we have enough capacity in Musa, Kalu and Onyekuru’s boots:-)

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

Funny you @Haymaker. Kaduna is OK for me cuz I’ll be there. I stay in Abuja and would have loved if the National Stadium was choosen but anytime I pass the National stadium, I always see cows eating their lunch there..What a Country. NATIONAL STADIUM! #THIS IS NIGERIA. But Kaduna is still OK for me, All thanks to RAIL WAY STATION

  • thought they said the pitch is in good condition unlike the last d last time..
