NFF Endorse New Keshi Contract

NFF Endorse New Keshi Contract

The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation rose from its meeting on Thursday and mandated the Federation’s Secretariat to reach out to Stephen Keshi to conclude the details of his contract ahead possible signing by next week, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.

The NFF have received a written expression of interest from Keshi to continue as Head Coach of the Super Eagles after his contract with the NFF terminated following the end of Nigeria’s World Cup campaign.

The Eagles will kick off their 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in September and the Federation are hoping that there won’t be a void in the coaching role though there are reportedly plans to have an interim coach in place should negotiations with Keshi break down before the Nations Cup qualifiers commence.

The Executive Committee also endorsed the approval given by the Acting President, Mike Okeke Umeh for payment
of monies owed to late Assistant Coach of the U-20 Women National Team, Mr. Chris Nwaehi.

Keshi was in the running for the job of national chief coach of the South African national team. He was also said to be attracting interests from countries like Angola and Equatorial Guinea.
