NFF Explain Delay In Keshi’s Contract

By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:

President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick has shed more light on the reasons why Stephen Keshi has yet to sign a new contract as Super Eagles coach

Pinnick told Complete Sports in Abuja that Keshi would be announced as the Coach of the Super Eagles as soon as the two parties agree on terms of the contract, noting that the NFF wants to ensure that both Keshi and FA are satisfied with the contract.

“The Chairman of the technical committee is presently in contract talks with Keshi and when they agree, the technical committee will make recommendations to the executive committee. Contracts are not signed overnight, we want to be thorough so that we don’t run into problem”, says Pinnick.

“It is taking this long because of the processes involved in contracts signing. Both parties have to tie up the legal aspects of the contract before agreeing to sign. All these will soon be sorted out and Nigerians would appreciate what we are doing” Pinnick stated.

He continued “I can assure you that everything about the head of the technical crew will be sorted out very soon and the contract would be signed. We don’t want to make mistakes and we don’t want to rush into making mistakes that is why we have not taken a decision on that”

On the kit sponsorship with Adidas, Pinnick stated that the Super Eagles will not be breaching any law if they use the Adidas kits in the two international friendly games in Abu Dhabi next week because they have granted NFF an extension.

Why should NFF stil keep Keshi as the coach? He should be fired and another indigenous coach should take over from him

Only a seasoned and highly experienced foreign coach can lift the standard of eagles from its current state.
However, if an indigenous coach is what they want, Keshi is still the best around.
