NFF June Allocation On Hold

NFF June Allocation On Hold

–Over crisis in Glass House

The Federal Government has allegedly directed that Nigeria Football Federation’s monthly allocation to be put on hold pending the final resolution of the crisis in the Glass House following the on-going cleansing exercise in the domestic football.

The bonus row that overshadowed Super Eagles performance at the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup compelled the Federal Government to beam its searchlight on the finances of the NFF.

Complete Sports gathered that the Federal Government directed that allocation to the NFF be put on hold with suggestions that the NFF will not receive any allocation for the month of July.

Though there has been no clear amount the Glass House collects from the government on monthly basis with reports suggesting that N253m meant for July will not be released.

But an NFF official who spoke on condition of anonymity told Complete Sports that what is being withheld was not allocation for July but June.

“If you are talking about June, I will say yes but certainly not July because the month (July) is not yet ended”, the NFF source said.

Asked if this twist will not affect staff salaries, the source said no, adding that staff salaries are usually paid into individual staff bank accounts from the government.

“This has nothing to do with staff salaries, all staff salaries are paid into their different bank accounts by the government.
