Complete Sports can report that both Coach Stephen Keshi and the Nigeria Football Federation will come together this week to decide on the players that will be invited for next month’s double header against Sudan in African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to a reliable source in the Nigeria Football Federation, the FA has two weeks to notify the club of each of the players that will be invited for international assignment and for Nigeria to keep to that, invitation will have to go out this week.
“I cannot say precisely when the list will come out but in keeping to international standard of players’ invitation, the clubs must be notified this week. I want to believe that the coach will meet with the FA this week to discuss that issue,” says the highly reliable source.
He however told Complete Sports that the issue of Keshi’s contract has not been made public but underground discussion has been going on between the Big Boss and FA scribe.
“Nothing really much has been said about Keshi’s contract but I can tell you that underground discussion is going on between the scribe and the coach”, he said.
Nigeria will play Sudan in the first leg on October 11 while the return leg match holds few days after in Nigeria.
