The Nigeria Football Federation have cleared the air over reports that the Super Eagles have not been paid bonuses for their last two games.
“We are not owing the Eagles any bonus. I don’t know where the report came from that we are owing two match bonuses. The players cannot be owed and they keep quiet. As far as I am concerned, all members of the team have collected their bonuses,”reveals a top NFF official who begged not to be named.
“The truth is that in line with the new cashless policy of government, their bonuses for the games against Congo and South Africa have been wired to all those involved. We have paid them all their entitlements.
“It was disappointing that the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea but we at the NFF at no time put the blame on the players and their officials so the issue of withholding their bonuses does not arise at all,’further revealed our source.
Our source further revealed that irrespective of Eagles absence in January Africa Cup of Nations, the NFF will ensure that they are busy playing friendlies
