Complete Sports can report that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has stated in clear language that Super Eagles will earn $5,000 each if they are able to beat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in today’s 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier holding in Cape Town.
A very reliable source in the Nigeria Football Federation’s media department told Complete Sports yesterday that the players will not be paid $10,000 as it was at the World Cup in Brazil, saying AFCON standard is different from the Mundial.
According to him, the players who flew out to Cape Town Sunday night after their 3-2 home defeat by the Red Devils of Congo in Calabar were not paid anything for the match.
He said the NFF despite the crisis rocking the Glass House is well prepared to ensure that the players are paid their entitlement immediately after the match today.
“Let me put it straight that the players will only be paid $5,000 for a win, $2,500 for a draw while they will not be paid anything for a defeat, the money paid to them in Brazil was for the World Cup and they can’t earn the same thing for AFCON which they already know”, says the source
