The Super Eagles of Nigeria are looking to extetend their dominance over Togo when they take on the Hawks in an international friendly match in Paris, France, on Thursday, June 1 2017.
    
Nigeria and Togo have clashed.16 times at senior level, including competitive and friendly matches. Nigeria dominate with six wins over Togo's three. Seven of the 16 encounters ended in draw.

Both teams are using the friendly game as preparation ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which start in June.

NIGERIA 1-1 TOGO (Friendly: 1956)

The first time Nigeria and Togo ever met was in an international friendly game in 1956 in Lagos.

After 90 minutes of football, Togo forced Nigeria to a 1-1 draw.

TOGO 2-1 NIGERIA (Friendly: 1964)

For the second time, Nigeria and Togo met again in another friendly which took place in Lome in 1964.

Unlike in the first encounter, Togo triumphed 2-1 against Nigeria.

TOGO 2-2 NIGERIA (Friendly: 1966)

In March 1966, Togo hosted Nigeria once again in another friendly game and maintained their unbeaten record.

Their third straight international friendly ended all squared as both teams played out a 2-2 draw.

NIGERIA 1-1 TOGO (Friendly: 1966)

A month later, Nigeria hosted Togo in another friendly game and once again failed to record their first ever win against the French-speaking country.

Togo forced Nigeria to a 1-1 draw to maintain their unbeaten record against Nigeria.

NIGERIA 4-2 TOGO (1968 AFCON Qualifier, 1st Leg, Group Stage: 1967)

After four straight friendly games, Nigeria and Togo finally met in a competitive game in 1967 during the qualifers for the 1968 Africa Cup of Nations in Ethiopia.

Nigeria, Togo and Cote d'Ivoire were drawn in Group 3 but it was the Ivorians who eventually picked the sole ticket for the 1968 AFCON.

In the first leg clash between Nigeria and Togo played in Lagos, Nigeria won 4-2.

TOGO 1-0 NIGERIA (1968 AFCON Qualifier, 2nd Leg, Group Stage: 1967)

In the reverse fixture played in Lome, Togo emerged 1-0 winners to secure their second win after six encounters against Nigeria.

The final group standing had Cote d'Ivoire topping the group, Nigeria finished second while Togo ended in third position.

NIGERIA 3-1 TOGO (Friendly: 1967)

Still in 1967, Nigeria and Togo crossed paths again in an international friendly in Lagos.

And for the first time, Nigeria beat Togo in a friendly game, winning 3-1.

NIGERIA 1-0 TOGO (Friendly: 1975)

The international friendly series between Nigeria and Togo continued as both teams clashed in Lagos in 1975.

Just like in their last meeting, Nigeria once again got the better of Togo, with a 1-0 victory.

NIGERIA 2-2 TOGO (Friendly: 1979)

The last time Nigeria and Togo squared off in an international friendly game was in Lagos in 1979.

And after losing their last two friendly games against Nigeria, in 1967 and 1975, Togo held out this time for a 2-2 draw.

TOGO 5-2 NIGERIA (CEDEAO CUP: 1983)

In the CEDEAO Cup organized in 1983 by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Nigeria and Togo clashed in the semi-final.

Togo recorded their biggest ever win against Nigeria following a 5-2 win.

NIGERIA 2-2 TOGO (CEDEAO CUP: 1986)

In the next edition of the CEDEAO Cup in 1986, Nigeria failed to beat Togo in their last three games.

Togo managed to hold Nigeria to a 2-2 draw, their fifth stalemate after 11 clashes against each other.

NIGERIA 3-1 TOGO (WAFU CUP: 1987)

From the international friendlies, the AFCON qualifiers and the CEDEAO Cup, Nigeria and Togo met in the West African Football Union's  Cup (WAFU) in 1987.

Nigeria made it second straight win against Togo as they emerged 3-1 victors.

NIGERIA 2-0 TOGO (1988 AFCON Qualifier, 1st Round, 1st Leg: 1987)

In the race for qualification for the 1988 AFCON in Morocco, Nigeria and Togo were drawn against each other in the first round in 1987.

The first leg was played in Lagos and Nigeria won 2-0, securing their fifth win against the Togolese.

TOGO 1-1 NIGERIA (1988 AFCON Qualifier, 1st Round, 2nd leg: 1987)

Togo hosted the second leg in Cote d'Ivoire and were forced to a 1-1 by Nigeria and crashed out of the qualification for the 1988 AFCON.

Nigeria advanced into the second round and edged Sierra Leone 3-2 on aggregate to pick one of the tickets for the 1988 AFCON.

At the 1988 AFCON, Nigeria got to the final but lost 1-0 to Cameroon.

NIGERIA 3-0 TOGO (1992 AFCON Qualifier, 1st Leg, Group Stage: 1990)

Nigeria were grouped with Ghana, Burkina Faso, Benin and Togo for the qualifiers for the 1992 AFCON hosted by Senegal.

On matchday One, in 1990, Nigeria hosted Togo in Lagos and won 3-0.

TOGO 0-0 NIGERIA ((1992 AFCON Qualifier, 2nd Leg, Group Stage: 1991)

On matchday Five in the qualifiers, Togo welcomed Nigeria in Lome but were held to a 0-0 draw.

Nigeria and Ghana both qualified for the 1992 AFCON while Togo, Burkina Faso and Benin all got eliminated.

And at the 1992 AFCON, Nigeria made it to the semi-final where they lost 2-1 to Ghana.

They finished third after beating Cameroon 2-1, while  Cote d'Ivoire were crowned champions, after beating Ghana 11-10 on penalties.
