This is going to be a very tough encounter between these two sides, due to the fact the the malian having let the Nigeria edge them in the just concluded u-17 world cup final in chile few weeks ago,the malian will want to revenge that lost, secondly, also knowing what is at stake here in this competition that only the first three finalist wil automatically qualify to the 2016 Rio olympic so they malian will not want to sit back and let Nigeria run riot against them without a very good fight. But in the Nigerian team withe the inclusion of the malian most destroyed player in the like of Victor Oshime who did not let the malian team rest in the just concluded U-17 world cup in Chile by coach Siasia and with the inform Taiwo Awoniyi in the same frontline eventhough the malian will want to fight a good fight i see the Siasia boys prevailling with a 3-1 victory when Nigeria meet mali

Yes, is going to be a very tough match between Nigeria and Mali. As we’ve known that the Malians are still feeling the pains of defeat at under 17 level. Malians would come out like a wounded toothless lion to take a revenge but I know lf Siasia can manage our boys well, we will defeat Mali and even qualify for 2016 Olympic. The score line is 2-1 in favour of Nigeria.

When it comes to match like this, it is quite difficult simply because both side knows what it takes to start a competition by winning your first group game. The two teams are strong and are ready to upstage each other but at the end of that encounter comes 29th November i see the
team vi winning that game with a 2-1 goal margin. URHOBOTIE EJIRO. IBADAN.

  • Nigeria vs Mali or Eagles vs Eagles. It is always interesting to watch these two teams play in any category as we witnessed in the recently concluded FIFA u17. The young Malians were a delight to watch but when they met the Nigerians they saw a superior fire power via Osimhen. This Osimhen is in this dream team. Will he great fear into this Malian team? Time will tell. Other deadly players are in this dream team too. Emmanuel Daniel from Enugu Ranger is 1st team goalkeeper. Oghenekaro Etebo from Warri Wolves is the heartbeat of the team. When he plays well, the others follow. Likewise popular too is Taiwo Awoniyi from the 2013 Fifa u17 fame. Will these players use the winning mentality of the present crop of u17 to rub on them and do well. I definitely think so. The Malians have so far played 2 friendly matches with the host country Senegal and they all ended in draws. Are they draw specialist? Their U17 only lost to Nigeria in the entire competition. Will this rub on them? They have not proven it so far. One thing is certain and it is that both teams know that only 3 teams fromAfrican will qualify and it is from this competition these 3 teams will be pick. In this group they have 2 North African teams Algeria and Egypt to contend with. So this match is a must win. Let Sunday come and lets see. I see Nigeria taking the day. Nigeria 2-0 Mali.
    DJENIKO Chris, Lagos

  • I believe in the catalant super eagles because they are reliable and promising. I call on Sunday Olise to give the eagles all his needed best and our needed surpport is certain. Nigeria 3-0 Mal.i

With the inclusion of victor oshmen and awoniyi, our boy wil over run mali come on sunday, do it wil not going to be so easiy for the eagles of nigeria, mali wl fight wt all there streingt because of there lost to nigeria in just concluded u17 world cup. But at the i see nigeria come out wt smiling face wt 1-0. MR OKERE JUDE speaking from port harcourt.

Mali vs nigeria is going to be a very tough game because its going to be the opener for both teams and for sure non of the team will want to lose this game. Both teams are going to be very physical. But the malian team will be wary of the nigerian team. Its going to be a battle but at the end i see the nigerian team having an edge over their opponent with a narrow win. With the presence of awoniyi and ajayi i think the team will perform well and again oshimen might also be coming from the bench to prove his worth. Final score Mali 0 vs 1 Nigeria. Doubra, edo state.

In sha Allah Nigeria is going to win by 3 goals margin considering the calibre of players that are in the team.

On tuesday, nov 24,the malian u23 soccer team played a 2-2 draw with their senegalese counterparts after a goalless encounter earlier on sunday…the malians led by 2-0 before allowing their opponents into the game..the outcome of that match is a pointer to the fact that if our. “Dream Team” can solidify their defence and sharpen their attack, they would be in control of the game..our boys should take all the chances they get in their opponents box, while keeping a very tight midfield..the coach should get a playmaker to coordinate the midfield..A 4-2-1-2-1 formation would be very effective, where u have 4 defenders,2 defensve mdfieders,1 playmaker(etebo),2 attck-midfielders(usman and bature yabo) and 1 striker(awoniyi)…above all, excellent team spirit, strong positive belief and purposefulness will make the “Dream Team” not only to defeat their malian opponents(2-1),but qualify for the Olympics and win the African tournament…

The first match is always crucial to the success of any team in a major tournament like under 23 afcon. Nigeria team team though unable to feature outstanding players at their disposal but do with the capable ones in camp. The presence of Taiwo, Osimhen and Ajayi, not to mention Azubuike is enough to send shivers down d
spine of any team. so Nigeria 2 , Mali 1. Isibor James, Fct, Abuja.

the encounter between Nigeria and Mali will be an intresting one. As we use to know Mali is always a threat to nigeria when it comes to any football tournament. The U23 teams will represent nigeria if they can qualify from the Championship which will  guarantees them a ticket to the football event of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro. The match is not going to be easy beacuse Mali is always a strong side to nigeria with the calibar of players in the team callup by the experience coach Samson othey will perform exelently well they will come out of that group but the match against Mali is going to be a goaless draw Nigeria 0 Mali 0

This encounter will be an interesting one,The dream team having not qualified for the last olympics will want to give it there all this time to ensure qualification to rio,and having a coach like samson siasia on the bench who has a lot of experience in age grade competitions and who has also won nigeria an olympic silver medal in biejing china,is a great plus to the team.Although the malians will be making there debut in this competition against Nigeria,i’m sure they wont want to give there west african neighbours an easy match, and considering their recent successes in age grade competitions (winning bronze at the u20 world cup and silver at the u17),they will want to continue in that trend and as such give us a good fight.Going into the game proper,86% of the nigerian team are home based and they’ve been together for a while now, unlike the last edition where the team relied solely on foreign based players who couldnt eventually make the trip to morrocco cos of club commitments, and we all know siasia is an attacking coach who likes to score goals, but this current dream team create a lot of chances and only bury a few, which has been the team’s weakpoint, the team has a solid and hardworking midfied and a strong defence as well but the attack is where d prb lies but with the inclusion of Awoniyi, osimhen, junior ajayi to the attack i expect a less shy attack on sunday, also the good form of etebo and the presence of the captain azubuike will help the team to achieve victory on sunday.mind u the nucleaus of the malian team are the boys who won them bronze at the last u20 world cup,so they are a very strong and physical team, and they can boost of players like Souleymane Sissoko, Diadie Samassekou
Souleymane Diarra and the workaholics at the back Aboubacar
Doumbia, Souleymane Couilbaly just to mention a few.the malians would want to shield there midfield to stop the dream team from playing there syle as such furstrating them, but i believe the dream team has enough firepowers to counter the malians at that department, so i expect a cagey but interesting encounter and victory for the team that makes the best use of there chances i see a 2-0 win for nigeria.Ajuwon Tolu j. • Nigeria ll prevail ,nigeria 3 vs 2 mali.

  • segun 6 years ago

The Nigerian team would be at their best as the players would play endlessly to ensure their qualification for the olympics. With reports from their camp,i think they are good to go defeat the malians. The malians have always being a threat to the Nigerian team,as they played 2-2 draw against senegal.Nevertheless, the dream team would triumph….nigeria 2- 1 mali…

  • olofu sheidu 6 years ago

Nigeria and Mali happen to be the two top team in the U-23 AFCON GroupB, as a result of this it will be a cracker because many people believe this match would determine the winners of this group. Samson Siasia’s team will hope for a winning start against mali, whose country has been on a high internationally this year after they finished 3rd at the FIFA U-20 world cup and were beaten as finalist in the FIFA U-17 world cup. the Malian eagles are big and physical, meaning the Nigerian lad must use their athletic ability to come out victorious. the Malians have a major absentee COB winger Abdoulaye Diara, who featured during the qualifying campaign before he was dropped by the Malian coach. Nigeria’s dream team has been boosted by overseas- based players like Junior Ajayi, Taiwo Awoniyi, and hopefully that should rid them their shyness in front of goal. Etebo Oghenekaro will also be a player to watch out for after scoring hat-trick against Real Banjul. On these notes i foresee win for Nigeria…Nigeria 3-1 Mali. Olofu Sheidu, Ilorin Kwara State.

The game between Nigeria vs mali the first match for both teams in this edition of caf u23 tornamentwhich also serve as the qualifier for the next olympic games is going to be very tough and also exciting to watch as both teams will come all out to win the game. Being the first game for both side will even make it more difficult as both teams will not want to lose because the first game is always very important as a win will boost their moral and ginger them towards other games. Why the reverse can make the team play under tension. The game is going to be very physical because the malians have always been known for that. The two sides are going to approach this game cautiously being the first game and as they are yet to understand each other. With the release of samson siasia’s mother, its a good thing for the team as he will be on the team with a relaxed mind. This game is going to be dicided by the team who is able to take his chances. With the solid preparation of the nigerian team, its a sure victory. It will be great to see oshimen perform well with the likes of awoniyi, ajayi, azuibike and others. Nigeria 2 vs 0 Mali. Harrison, benin.

Nigeria vs mali is going to be a very interesting and important because its a must win for either side. a defeat will make the other games very difficult because they will be playing under tension to win. Nigeria always know how to beat the malian team and i see them doing it again. With the experience of samson siasia and the calibre of players invited its a big win for Nigeria. MALI 0 VS 3 NIGERIA. Isreal, edo state.

  • jeff ogu 6 years ago

This game is going to be very tough no doubt about thatas previous meeting in all tornament against the malians have always proven so. With the experience of siasia, tactically i know nigeria have an upper hand. In terms of preparedness and quality of players i think our boys also have the upper hand. If nigeria is able to take the chances that come their way, then its a big win. Good news for siasia and Nigeria as his mother have been release by his abducters. I expect the likes of Awoniyi, etebo, azubuike, ajayi and oshimen to do well to give us the victory. Nigeria 3 – 1 Mali. Jeff, benin.

Today’s game between mali vs nigeria will be very tight and also entertaining. Nigeria team have always been a nightmare to the malians in all category apart from nigeria 99 when they won. With the way we played to qualify for this competition, i don’t see the malian team as threat or stoping us in this game. With the quality of the foreigh based players invited and home base selected coupled with the introduction of u17 record breaker goal poacher, its a sweet victory for us. Nigeria 2-1 Mali. Favour, Agbor.

Today’s match between Nigeria and Mali is going to be a very tough one considering the rivalry between these two nations at aged group level. And also don’t forget that it was Nigeria that stop their under 17 team from lifting the world cup that was just concluded in Chile month back, and the boy that broke their heart is also In this Nigeria squad so they will do all they can to stop us bt you and I know that Nigeria know s how to get it done at this level of football. The match is going to be 2 to 1 in Favour of Nigeria. Shedrack Ekpoma Edo State

Mali taking on Nigeria is going to be an exciting game to watch. The first game for a team in every tornament gave always been known to be very difficult and i think this game will not be an exception.. Nigeria team have always been a slow starter in every tornament so i see them struggling this first game. With olympic spot at stake the game is going to be very explosive. Final score Nigeria 0-0 Mali. Priscilla, edo state.

“The ticket to the Olympics is non-negotiable” (word from Samson Siasia)

    Nigeria VS Mali

This should be one of the most important game of the season for the U23 boy of Nigeria, however, having followed some of their past game, i think this is the El-classico u23, because both team are coming from an indomitable form, both team have a great record in African football at this level, both team records so far below:

Nigeria U23 Record so far, they have 2 wins, 2 draws

    Congo vs Nigeria =0-0

    Nigeria vs Ghana = 2-0

    Senegal vs Nigeria =1-1

Nigeria vs Burkino faso = 1-3

Mali u23 Record so far, they have 3 win and 3 draw this year

Mali vs Senegal = 2-2 it ended

    Senegal vs Mali = 1-1

    Mauritania vs Mali = 1-1

    Mali vs Maurtania = 3-1

    Gabon vs Mali = 0-1

    Mali vs Gabon 2-0

Note: This is the 2016 Olympic qualification ticket for both country

Nigeria missed, the last edition, i think this is the chance for Nigeria, the power of African football, “no wander Samson said the ticket to the Olympic is non-negotiable” Nigeria have what it takes to go out against the Malian team, considering the calibre of players we parade in this competition

I think the Malian coach would have said this in his mind like “We are not here to watch the game, Football is on the pitch and not mouth, Nigeria has the power house, but we won’t allow that to happen” The Malian got what it take to upset Nigeria team

Prediction: This is African football, we might see a lot of drama here, but i think the Nigeria team has the big advantage and opportunity to win it here we may see lot of goals here, let say  3-1 or 4-0

The match between Mali and Nigeria under 23s will start nervy but I expect the game to open up as time goes on during the match. I predict a 2- 0 win for the Nigerians with awoniyi on the score shret. I also expect Mohammed to turn in a good performance with golden boy osimhen to make an appearance. The game will be won in the midfield. Go Nigeria!!! Akindele ayodeji abuja Nigeria.

  • Daramola Semiu 6 years ago

Though the match between Nigeria U-23 and their Malian counterpart will be tough ; yet with the calibre of players paraded by U-23, the score line will be 2-0 in favour of Nigeria. However, Nigeria must not be complacent but to be tactically discplined .

  • chucks 6 years ago

This competition will be used to determine the 3 automatic qualifier for rio 2016 so today’s game between Mali vs nigeria will be a cracker. Its not going to be an easy game as been speculated by most nigerians. The malians played some great games before coming into this competition and they are capable of winining this game. I give it to Mali 1-0 Nigeria. Though nigeria will still qualify from the group. Chucks, ogwashu-uku.
