The championship, which will serve as the last chance for countries to pick their slots at the Rio Olympics, will run from 14 June to 26 June.

At the African qualifiers held in Yaounde, Cameroon earlier in the year, only Efe Ajagba qualified automatically for this year's Olympic Games.

In a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com, Konyegwachi expressed hope that Nigerian men boxers will be in Azerbaijan and also be among the countries that will be in Rio.

"We will move to camp very soon to begin preparation towards the boxing championship in Baku, Azerbaijan," Konyegwachi told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"Hopefully, we will be in Baku and qualify more of our boxers for the Olympic Games after securing just one slot during the African qualifiers in Cameroon."
