In the semi-final of the men's super heavyweight category, Ajagba defeated Aymen Trabelsi from Tunisia to guarantee his place at the Olympics.

The 2015 All Africa Games gold medallist will now take on Morocco's Mohammed Arjaoui in the final.

For the women, Caroline Linus will hope to emulate the feat of Ajagba by claiming an Olympic place.

To achieve this, Linus, fighting in the flyweight class, will have to beat Morocco's Zohra Ez Zahraoui in the final.

Meanwhile, in the women's middleweight contest, Edith Ogoke was not so lucky as she lost to Yannick Azangue Aubiege of Cameroon in the semi-final.
