Team Nigeria boxers, Muyideen Oyakojo and Waheed Shogbamu (pictured here in blue trunks), on Tuesday crashed out of their respective weight categories as the 11th All Africa Games entered its day five here in Congo Brazzaville.

Fighting in the 46kg category, Muyideen controversially lost to his Congolese counterpart, Moussiesse Francel, in a split 3-2 decision.

It was a decision Nigerian officials did not take easily as they believed the Nigerian pugilist was controversially edged out.

“Everybody at the Talangai Sports Hall boxing venue saw it, Muyideen won the fight clearly by 3-0 but the judges gave it to the home boy,” laments one of the Team Nigeria boxing coaches, Chris Ossai.

As if that was not enough pains for Team Nigeria, Team Lesotho boxer, Tsedo Lepodo, piled more mysery on Nigeria when he knocked out Team Nigeria’s Waheed Shogbamu in the first round of their fight.

Just a minute into the 64kg Light Welterweight fight, Tsedo gave Shogbamu a cut in the face which prompted the judges to call off the fight.
