Super Eagles’ 2018 World Cup qualifying group opponents Cameroon defeated next year’s Africa Cup of Nations hosts Gabon 2-1 in an international friendly game Tuesday.
After a goalless first half, Cameroon broke the deadlock through Anatole Abang in the 65th minute.
Gabon restored parity with 15 minutes remaining thanks to a strike by Guelor Kanga.
But on the stroke of 90 minutes, Edgar Salli got on the score sheet to give Cameroon a 2-1 victory.
Cameroon will kick off their 2018 World Cup qualifier away to Algeria in October.
They will face the Super Eagles on match day three and four of the qualifiers next year.
Four-time Africa Cup of Nations winners Cameroon will participate at next year’s AFCON in Gabon.
