Home Eagles defender, Jamiu Alimi, may have played his last game for the side at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda, a top official of the side has disclosed to Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Shooting Stars defender started the game alongside Stephen Eze in central defence, but was hauled after 16 minutes and was replaced by Kalu Orji who put in an impressive display following his introduction.
And with first choice centre-back, Austin Obaroakpo, set to return to action in Friday's fixture against Tunisia it looks likely the former Ukraine-based Alimi is now the last choice in the position.
"It's going to be difficult for Jamiu (Alimi) to comeback into the team with the performance of Eze and Orji against Niger," revealed the source to Completesportsnigeria.com.
"You know we still have Austin who is obviously the first choice in the position.
"The coach will have to make a big decision on who will pair him between Eze and Orji in the next game against Tunisia.
"I bet you, it is going to be a tough decision for him to make."
