By Adeboye Amosu: Kano Pillars and Enyimba have a chance to take spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) this weekend when they face Enugu Rangers and Sunshine Stars respectively in their matchday-10 fixtures, reports Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN).
With log leaders Akwa United and champions Plateau United who sit in third position not in action this weekend after their games were postponed due to their late arrival from their continental matches, a win or draw for Kano Pillars will see them move to the summit, while Enyimba will top the table for the first time this season should they win their game and Pillars stumble in theirs.
Four-time champions Kano Pillars who are level on points with leaders Akwa United face a tough away trip to the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium where they will be guest of Enugu Rangers.
Pillars who are unbeaten in their last six NPFL games will bank on theie league top scorer, Junior Lokosa, to help breach a Rangers defence that has kept clean sheet in the last three games.
Seven-time champions Enyimba who are also unbeaten in their last seven NPFL games will host Sunshine Stars at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.
The game will pitch the Peoples Elephant top hitman this season, Stanley Dimgba, who has hit the back of the net four times against his former employers.
At the Kwara Sports Complex Ilorin, Kwara United will seek to build on their 3-3 away draw against Nasarawa United last weekend when they host Rivers United at home.
The Harmony Boys sit in 18th position and will be all out to pick maximum points in the game which could see them move out of the relegation zone, while a win for the visitors will see them move to the top half of the table.
It will be a quick return to league duty for MFM FC after their CAF Champions League 1-0 win against AS Real de Bamako of Mali in midweek as they entertain Lobi Stars at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
The Olukoya Boys will welcome back the likes of Sikiru Olatunbosun, Waheed Adeshina and Jesse Akila who were not in action against Real Bamako due to registration irregularities for the game.
