NPFL Leaders MFM Face Heartland Test; Flying Rangers Host Akwa United

Nigeria Professional Football League leaders, MFM Football Club of Lagos, will be out to secure their second away win of the campaign when they do battle with Heartland Football Club of Owerri at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men have a hundred percent record at home, but have not recorded a win on their road since the opening day win against Nasarawa United in Lafia.
They picked a point in their last away fixture, a 0-0 draw in the Lagos derby against Ikorodu United.
Heartland who have recorded just one win in five games will be desperate to win this tie.
In Ibadan, Rivers United who have scored in all their away games, but are yet to pick a point, will be guests of Shooting Stars Sports Club.
The Oluyole Warlords are sweating on the fitness of the quartet of Yinka Adedeji, Waheed Omololu, Cletus Itodo and Izu Joseph.
Their absence could prove damaging for Kadiri Ikhana’s men as they are all key members of the squad.
Second placed Rangers will entertain Akwa United in Enugu in what is expected to a highly entertaining affair.
Akwa United head into the game on the back of their 3-0 victory in a rescheduled match day two fixture on Wednesday.
The Flying Antelopes have not lost in the NPFL since their opening day defeat against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Ikorodu United who have just appointed former Warri Wolves coach Sam Okpodu as their new technical adviser will take on Giwa FC at the Onikan Stadium.
Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos will be the venue of the game between Plateau United and Lobi Stars.
The hosts have a good record at home with two wins and a draw from three, while Lobi have won once and lost twice in their last three away fixtures.
In Katsina, FC IfeanyiUbah will be banking on their foreign imports to help beat El-Kanemi Warriors when both sides clash at the Karkanda Memorial Stadium.
