The win takes MFM, who are yet to lose at home this season, to second on the log on 37 points.

The defeat to MFM ended IfeanyiUbah’s eight-game unbeaten run.

In Calabar, Enyimba edged leaders Plateau United 1-0 thanks to a solitary goal by Andrew Abalogu.

Abalogu’s goal was scored in the 70th minute of the encounter.

Abalogu was however injured with seven minutes remaining and was stretchered off.

Despite the defeat, Plateau are still top on the log on 39 points, two points above second-placed MFM, while Enyimba climbed to the fifth position on 34 points.

Title contenders El-Kanemi Warriors could not capitalise on Plateau’s slip-up as they lost 2-1 to Wikki Tourists in Bauchi.

Ismail Gbabayan and Festus Umanah scored in the second and 68th minutes respectively to give Wikki a 2-0 lead.

Efe Yarhere pulled a goal back for El-kanemi with three minutes left but Wikki held on to claim their eighth win of the season.

El-Kanemi now drop to third in the league table on 36 points following the loss Wikki Tourist.

At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Shooting Stars halted their run of three defeats with a 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars.

In Enugu, champions Rangers had to dig deep to force Nasarawa United to a 1-1 draw.

Nasarawa seemed to be heading for an unlikely win when Thomas Zenke gave them the lead on 75 minutes.

But with 10 minutes left, Godwin Aguda scored to help salvage a point for his team.

In Kano, Kano Pillars overcame Lobi Stars 2-1.

A brace from Nyima Nwangwa in the 36th and 49th minutes gave Pillars a comfortable lead.
