NPFL: MFM Hold Rangers As Ifeanyi Ubah Go Top; 3SC Down Ikorodu

Rangers surrendered first position in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Wednesday after they were held to a 1-1 draw by MFM FC at Agege Stadium.

Rangers took the lead through Obinna Nwobodo nine minutes before break.

The home side were thwarted by Rangers goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel, who put up a spirited display in goal.

Parity was however restored in the game  by Stephen Odey in the 68th minute.

FC IfeanyiUbah shot to the top of the table following a comfortable 2-0 home win against Plateau United.

The club's Ivorien import, Seka Pascal, scored the opener from the spot on 18 minutes.

Cameroonian  midfielder, Tamen Medrano, made the points safe when he banged in the second on the dot of 90 minutes.

Giwa FC ended Kano Pillars' six games unbeaten streak by handing the Sai Masu Gida a 2-0 defeat in Jos.

Abia Warriors maintained their unbeaten run by securing a 2-1 win against Akwa United in Uyo.

The home side scored early in the game through Kufre Ebong, but Ndifreke Effiong struck in the 37th minute, while Anthony Okemiri added the second on 47 minutes to give Warriors the win.

At the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers United beat El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 courtesy of a 66th minute strike by Nonso Okonkwo.

In Makurdi, Lobi Stars and Wikki Tourists played out a 1-1 draw.

Wikki went ahead through Godwin Obaje in the 32 minute.

It only took Lobi Stars three minutes to get the equalising goal which was scored by Barnabas Imenger.

Niger Tornadoes and Sunshine Stars ended their game in a 2-2 draw at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.

Ismaila Gata put the hosts ahead on seven minutes from the spot while Okiki Afolabi also converted a penalty in first half added time to make it 1-1. It was his third goal of the season for the Owena Waves.

Dele Olorundare gave Sunshine Stars the lead for the first time in the game two minutes after the break.

Tornadoes made it 2-2 after Tasiu Lawal  converted from the spot to earn his side a share of the spoils.

Shooting Stars edged out Ikorodu United 2-0 in Ibadan with Sunday Adetunji grabbing a brace.
