NPFL: MFM, Pillars Set For War; Lobi Threaten Rangers’ Title Hopes

Former Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Kano Pillars, will bid to become the first side to inflict defeat on MFM FC when both sides clash in their match day eight fixture at the Agege Stadium in Lagos on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Olukoya Boys who are having their debut campaign in the top flight have won all their games at the venue.
Wednesday’s game will be their biggest test as Pillars parades some of the best players in the in the league.
The visitors will be without midfielder, Ifeanyi Matthew, who is away on international duty, while forward Gambo Mohammed is an injury doubt.
FC IfeanyiUbah and Heartland will clash in the Oriental derby in Nnewi.
The hosts trounced Ikorodu United 4-1 in their last home fixture and will hope for a repeat of that impressive scoreline against their eastern rivals.
League leaders Rangers will face Lobi Stars in Makurdi.
The Flying Antelopes who have tasted defeat only once this season will miss the services of key duo, Kalu Orji and Matthew Etim, who are away on international duty.
Lobi Stars on the other hand will look to get back to winning ways after losing their last two games.
The Pride of Benue will look up to league top scorer, Anthony Okpotu to help them get back to winning ways.
Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo will host the South South derby between Akwa United and Warri Wolves.
At the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, Shooting Stars who are without a point on the road will take on Niger Tornadoes, while Abia Warriors who are yet to taste defeat this season will entertain high-flying Wikki Tourists in Umuahia.
In Port Harcourt, Sunshine Stars will seek to pick their first win of the campaign when they face home side, Rivers United, at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium.
Rivers United are unbeaten at home in the NPFL this season.
Champions Enyimba will do battle with Plateau United at home. The Peoples Elephant have played only three games in the NPFL due to their continental engagements.
Paul Aigbogun’s men have won once and lost twice.
Nasarawa United another side who are yet to taste victory this season will keep a date with Ikorodu United in Lafia, while Giwa FC will host El-Kanemi Warriors in Jos.
