NPFL: Ogunbote Happy With Rangers Progress

By Adeboye Amosu: Enugu Rangers coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, is thrilled to see his team record their third win of the season in Thursday’s 1-0 victory against Rivers United, Completesportsnigeria.com reports‎

Kelvin Itoya grabbed the winning goal on the hour mark following a superb through ball from Godwin Aguda.


The win ensured the Flying Antelopes who started the season with two back-to-back defeats against Akwa United and Lobi Stars moved from 16th to seventh position in the NPFL table with the win.

Ogunbote further said that the team will look to improve on their performance in subsequent games and move further up in the table.

“It was a good match. I am happy that we are getting it right. Rivers United is not a small team any day and they showed why they are where they were last season,”Ogunbote told Enugu Rangers’ website.

“The goals may not be coming in the desired numbers for now, but I assure our teaming fans, supporters and sponsors that we shall make them proud at the end of the season.”

The Coal City outfit will take on take on oriental rivals, Abia Warriors in their next fixture on Monday.
