NPFL: Pillars Massacre 3SC, Abia Down MFM, Heartland Dim Sunshine

Kano Pillars extended their unbeaten streak against Shooting Stars to seven matches following a comprehensive 6-0 win at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ifeanyi Matthew scored the curtain raiser on 11 minutes, driving the ball home from the edge of the box.
The visitors’ task was made more difficult when Emmanuel Edmund increased Pillars’ lead eight minutes before the break.
3SC were further pegged back when Edmund got his brace in the 54th minute before getting his hat-trick minutes later.
Adamu Mohammed and Nofiu Ibrahim scored the fifth and sixth goals in the 90th and 91st minutes.
Edmund is now the fourth player to have scored a hat-trick in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season following in the footsteps of Wasiu Jimoh (3SC), Rabiu Ali (Kano Pillars) and Kingsley Eduwo (Lobi Stars).
It is Pillars’ biggest win in the NPFL since they defeated Gombe United 7-1 on September 22, 2004.
In Umuahia, MFM were taught a bitter lesson by their hosts, Abia Warriors who beat them 3-1.
Abia Warriors took the lead in the third minute through Uche Ihuarulam.
The Olukoya Boy weathered the storm until the 65th minute when former Golden Eaglets star, Stanley Okoro, opened his account for the hosts with their second of the day.
Ihuaralam was then upended in the box in the 70th minute, with Ndifreke Effiong converting from the spot to make it 3-0.
Kennedium pulled one back for Fidelis Illechukwu’s men in injury time.
Heartland ended their second win in nine matches with a hard fought 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars in Owerri.
Ifeanyi Onuigbo scored the winning goal in the 55th minute.
Plateau United also egded hard-fighting Rivers United 2-1 in Jos.
Benjamin Turba put Plateau United ahead on 14 minutes.
Chinonso Okonkwo equalised for Rivers United 10 minutes from time with a beautiful header.
The home side scored the winning goal late in the game.
Anthony Okpotu scored a late penalty as Lobi Stars beat Niger Tornadoes.
Lobi Stars are now without defeat in their last six matches against the Minna- based side.
At the Warri City Stadium, Warri Wolves secured a comfortable 2 -0 win against Giwa FC.
Goodluck Onamado headed the hosts in front in the 10th minute after the visitors failed to clear their lines properly.
John Odumegwu added the second goal in the 29th minute.
Wikki Tourists were in devastating form as they handed a 2-0 defeat to FC Ifeanyiubah at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi
Godwin Obaje hit the back of the net for the home side on the half hour mark, while Abubakar Lawal doubled his side’s lead in the 50th minute.
Lawal netted his second of the day 11 minutes from time.
