NPFL: Rangers Maul Ikorodu United, Obaje Hat-trick Sinks 3SC

Enugu Rangers were in devastating form as they whitewashed Ikorodu United 4-1 in their Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 17 fixture at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday, reports
The victory ended a run of three games without a win for the Flying Antelopes.
Francis Nedum opened the floodgate of goals for the Coal City side when he scored the curtain raiser on 11 minutes.
Seven minutes later, Tope Olusesi made it two to the hosts after combining well with Chisom Egbuchulam.
Olusesi scored his second and his side’s third of the game in the 21st minute.
Moses Ebiye pulled a goal back for Ikorodu United in the 23rd minute.
Obinna Nwobodo restored Rangers’ three goals advantage five minutes before the end of the game.
Also on Sunday, Abia Warriors stayed unbeaten at the Umuahia Stadium beating Rivers United 1-0.
The home side netted the winner in the 23rd minute through Micheal Olaha who fired the ball home after the visitors’ goalkeeper, Rotimi Sunday, punched Bolaji Sakin’s cross into his path.
Kano Pillars and Heartland battled to a barren draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Lobi Stars beat Giwa FC 2-0 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
The Pride of Benue were awarded a penalty in the 19th minute when Giwa FC defender Moses Opitoke handled the ball in the box.
Anthony Okpotu stepped up and converted the spot kick to give his side the lead. It was Okpotu’s eighth goal of the campaign.
Lobi Stars’ lead was doubled by Emmanuel Ajia on the stroke of half time.
Akwa United secured a narrow 1-0 win against Nasarawa United in Uyo.
Ubong Ekpai gave the Promise Keepers the lead in the 36th minute, curling home a beautiful free-kick.
Ekpai has now scored six goals for the Uyo- based side in the NPFL this season.
In Bauchi, Godwin Obaje scored a hat-trick as Wikki Tourists compounded Shooting Stars’ woes with a 4-0 defeat.
Obaje struck in 61st, 75th and 85th minutes. He is now the leading scorer in the league with 11 goals.
Saidu Abdullahi scored Wikki’s other goal.
The game between MFM FC and Niger Tornadoes will be played on Monday after a heavy downpour rendered the Agege Stadium pitch unplayable.
