Remo Stars and FC Ifeanyiubah ended their rescheduled matchday 28 Nigeria Professional Football League fixture at the Dina Dipo Stadium in Sagamu on Tuesday on a 1-1 draw, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The match was originally scheduled to hold on Sunday like other games but was moved forward by the League Management Company as players of Remo Stars suffered from food poisoning.
The first half ended scoreless with Remo Stars enjoying most of the chances against the team from Nnewi who had 41 points before the clash.
Remo's dominance continued in the second half.
Ekene Awazie skipped past FC Ifeanyiubah's John Huan in the 53rd minute but the hosts' captain Victor Mbaoma failed to connect with the pass.
FC IfeanyiUbah became desperate to have a goal as the game reached the hour mark and striker Godwin Obaje was booked in the 62nd minute.
And just a minute later, Stephen Eze came off from the bench in place of Isaac Badou as the Anambra Warriors tried every trick in the book to stop Remo from scoring even as they sought to break the deadlock.
FC Ifeanyiubah's Prince Aggreh created a goal scoring chance with nineteen minutes left on the clock, his cross into the Remo penalty box was however wasted by Huan whose shot was wide.
Obaje got the first goal in the game in the 80th minute when he planted a header beyond Remo Stars keeper Chizoba Ndukwe.
Remo Stars however restored parity in great fashion as Mbaoma's freekick went past FC Ifeanyiubah's wall and sailed into the net.
FC Ifeanyiubah are tied on 42 points with Lobi Stars in sixth place with Remo Stars in relegation waters.
