NPFL: Wikki, Rivers Continue Title Push; 3SC, Heartland In Relegation Fight

By Adeboye Amosu:

Title-chasing Wikki Tourists have a chance to reclaim top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League when they confront MFM FC in a week 32 fixture in Bauchi on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Bauchi-based side are one point behind leaders Enugu Rangers who are not in action this weekend as their game against Giwa FC has been postponed.

Abdu Makaiba's men lost their last game 2-0 against Plateau United and must win the tie to bounce back into reckoning.
Third-placed  Rivers United will face a difficult test at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars where they will be guests of Kano Pillars.
They head into the game in buoyant mood following Wednesday's 1-0 win against Heartland.

Pillars who sit in the 10th position and have no realistic hope of winning the title must win the game to boost their hopes of picking at least a continental ticket.

The Umuahia Township Stadium will host the Oriental derby fixture between Abia Warriors and Enyimba.
Defending champions Enyimba who sit in the eighth position and are six points behind leaders Enugu Rangers must win the game to keep their slim title hopes alive, while the hosts need maximum points to enhance their chances of escaping relegation.

In Owerri, former champions,  Heartland will continue their fight to escape the drop when they square up against Shooting Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, while El-Kanemi Warriors have a chance to preserve their unbeaten home run when  they entertain Sunshine Stars in Maiduguri.

At the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Plateau United and Nasarawa United will clash in an all-Northern affair.
Warri Wolves will hope to disrupt FC IfeanyiUbah's push for a continental ticket when both teams clash at the Warri City Stadium.
The vistiors have lost only once in eight outings.

The last two fixtures for the weekend will see Akwa United host Lobi Stars in Uyo, while relegation battlers Ikorodu United and Niger Tornadoes will clash at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
Tornadoes are the only side in the league this season  that are yet to pick a point on the road.
