Nuno Has No Problems With Warnock

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo says he has cleared the air with Cardiff chief Neil Warnock ahead of Friday’s meeting in South Wales. The two men were involved in a touchline spat in the Midlanders’ 1-0 triumph over the Bluebirds in April – a result that helped Wolves claim the Championship title and book their place in the Premier League.

Warnock became angered at Nuno’s exuberant celebrations after the final whistle as his side had missed two penalties, and he refused to shake the Portuguese tactician’s hand.

The pair will be in opposite dug-outs once again this week as Nuno takes his faltering side to the Cardiff City Stadium looking to stop the bleeding after four defeats in five top-flight matches.

Much has been made of last season’s altercation but the Molineux coach has made it clear that it is now all in the past. “It is totally over. We had a chance to speak and we clarified things. Now I can say we are good friends,” he told Sky Sports.

“Both teams want the same so let’s try to be better than them – but always with respect. “It was a fantastic game last season. It was a very emotional game. Both teams know each other well, and we expect a tough game.”
