Nigerian striker, Anthony Nwakaeme, is pleased to have teamed up with his compatriot Ogenyi Onazi at Trabzonspor, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
“He (Onazi) is my national tteammates. So, I will get settled in there very well,” he told CSN.
“It’s a good team and I hope do well there.”
Nwakaeme who signed a two-year deal with the seven-time Turkish champions, admits that the ambition of the club to be successful lured him to Turkey.
“I feel very happy to be here, to be part of this team,” he told the club’s official website.
“I see that the team has a great ambition to be successful. This situation is very motivating for me as a player.
“I saw the opening game of the season, I love the amazing atmosphere, fans and stadium here.”
Nwakaeme won the Israeli Ligat Al thrice and the Israeli Cup twice with Hapoel Beer Sheva. He scored 43 goals and created 24 assists in 120 appearances for the club after joining thwmfrom rivals Hapoel Raanana in June 2015.
His form in Israel caught the attention of Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr, and earned a call-up to the Super Eagles squad for their 2018 World Cup qualifiers in August 2017 but was left out of the final squad to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
