Nwakaeme Dreams Spot In Super Eagles’ Final World Cup Squad

Nwakaeme Dreams Spot In Super Eagles’ Final World Cup Squad

By Johnny Edward:

Hapoel Be’er Sheva forward, Anthony Nwakaeme, says a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup squad will cap his outstanding season in the Israeli league this season reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Nwakaeme scored his third goal of the Israeli League play-off in Be’er She’s’s 4-0 win over Beiter Jerusalem on Sunday to take his tally to 17 goals in all competitions this season.

The win also pushed Hapoel Beer Sheva closer to a third straight league title with Hapoel Beer Sheva needing just a win from their last three games to make it certain.

The Camels lead the Israeli Championship round with a total of 74 points, eight ahead of second placed Beiter Jerusalem with 66 points.

“Expectations are so high now that the World Cup is so close but I’m hopeful and confident I will get another chance in the Super Eagles,” Nwakaeme told CSN.

“If I get back into the team, that will cap my season brilliantly well because we are on the verge of making history in Israel.”

Nwakaeme made his debut for Nigeria in an inconsequential World Cup qualifying game against Algeria in November, 2017 and has not been called up to the squad since then.

  • Anthony Nwakaeme, you have spoken well and I wish all your dreams come true.

We all eargely await the list of players for the world cup and I have no doubt that each and every player selected will play with pride and do the nation proud.

As a winger/attacking right or left forward (or support striker), the competition for places could not be more fierce.

At the moment, strong candidates like Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Oghenekaro Etebo Olanrewaju Kayode, Brown Ideye, Henry Onyekuru and Kelechi Iheanacho are vying for those positions.

Very few fans and stakeholders expected much from the likes of Michael Babatunde and Juwon Oshaniwo in the 2014 world cup, yet they distinguished themselves and played really well.

So Anthony , I have every faith that if selected, you will go out there and give your best as a professional footballer.

    • Walking 3 years ago

I don’t even see him making the team.. Based on what is lacking in the SE, he’s presence is of no use..

  • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Etebo is a midfielder. Hes sure to be one of our midfielders going to the Mundial. It will be a miracle of monumental proportion to see Nwakaeme any where near the list talk less of the final 23. This is not a list of selecting players to share their match bonus with the coach. Infact this will be one of the most scrutinized list since USA 94.

    • Oh, so Etebo has not been known to play and excel in a left or right forward position?

I guess not everyone watched the Olympic football matches!

I am not the coach and I do not know his rational for squad selection.

Any player he selects, I support.

And as for selecting players to share their match bonus, I am not a rumour monger and will not indulge or be associated with such conversations.

  • Sunnyb 3 years ago

Nkwakemae, Hilary okechukwu, Simy Nkwakwo, Uche Agbo, Mikel Agu. These fine players they would surely make the list. U guys should remember Keshi list.

    • My man, you speak a lot of sense ja re!

Keshi left out some big names like Obafemi Martins and Ikechukwu Uche and still won the African Cup of nations and had Nigeria’s best result in the World Cup in 18 years by reaching the second round in the 2014 World Cup with the likes of Michael Babatunde (who set up Musa for the first equaliser against Argentina and who terrorised Bosnia’s defence).

After all said and done, whoever the coach selects, we should support.

Sunnyb LMAO! Someone couldn’t comprehend what you mean. I laugh in Swahili.

      • I couldn’t give a shit what sunny meant. Keshi`s teams played well, won an Afcon and reached the second round of a world Cup!

The empty barrels make the loudest stupid noises.

Eyi owu ewi toluwa lase! I will not go low to insult you. My opinions will that for me.

          • Well you have insulted me tacitly.

For the records, if your views are proved right (no matter how narrow focused it is) then I will be happy for you.

Have you ever been to watch an English Premier League match?
Aside from being a Super Eagles fans, you appear to like the EPL no be small.

I pray all your premier league Super Eagle players do well at the World Cup.

Like you, I am a fan of theirs; unlike you, I think history has proven that if -for one reason or the other – none of these players are available, the potential for the team to do well remains.

          • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

I only speak in parables. It’s ok to feel intimidated because I speak the facts, even a blind man can attest to that. LMAO!!! There’s nothing wrong in been shallow minded

          • I suggest you write a book of parables.

A million shallow minds like yourself do not intimidate me. Olodo.

          • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

I will continue to expose your shallow thinking. You know me no be today. Mediocrity worshipper. Nwakaeme should go to WorldCup ahead of Iwobi. Because you’re intimidated that’s why you’re resulting to insult me. Both I will continue to show maturity because I don’t even know you personally anyway. You’re not my next door neighbor.

          • I don’t wanna be your next door neighbour.

“Nwakaeme to go to the world cup ahead of Iwobi”….. If that is your deduction from my piece, I cannot help you.

            I rest my case.

          • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

I’m sure if you’re the coach you will take him ahead of Iwobi. Of course I’m glad you’re not my neighbor. Why will I ever want to know a shallow minded like you?

          • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

All your reasoning are significantly flawed as everyone can attest to that. You say this today you say another thing tomorrow. No specific points in your reasoning.

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

Nwakaeme will not even make the 35-man squad sef. So someone should tell him to stop dreaming and try again next time.

    • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

LMAO! World-class Nwakaeme according to some mediocrity worshippers LMAO!!!

      • Who has called Nwakaeme or any Super Eagles player World Class???

The gentleman (Nwakaeme) is free to dream, have ambition and fight for his place if considered is all what said!

Mediocrity worshippers;now that’s a new one. It did make me giggle, though.

LMOOI, LMAA, LMAO abi how you dey talk am sef!!!

      • Yes, no logic or point to my views, fine, your views make perfect sense.

Spoken like a true wise man.

A wise man who speaks for others is as dumb as they come.

        Dumb, thick and invariably clueless.

Your first mistake was to think you know me from KON platform, never had I commented there.

You were, are and will always be a loser.

  • Godswill 3 years ago

To be sincere, Nwaekeme played like a home based player during the Algeria match. He has no creativity, no drive, no speed, no skills, infact, he’s not creative. He was carefully assessed during the Algeria match, and he proved it that he will be of no threat to our opponents goal net in Russia. Sorry not good enough for eagles

  • Omo9ja 3 years ago

Ayphillydegreat and deo, I beg you both my men, let the peace reign.

However, Nwakaeme is a great striker but unfortunately, he was rusty when he played against Algeria match. This time around, I’m not sure if he will get another chance from coach Rohr.

I still don’t have anything to say until I see the 35 players list for the world cup. Then, I will know if Nigeria are ready for world cup or not. May God give Mr. Rohr the wisdom and understanding to lead the Eagles to the promise land. God bless us all. God bless Nigeria!!!

    • Bomboy 3 years ago

Omo9ja, you are a good guy, a peace maker. I once misunderstood you. I am sorry.

    • Paschal 3 years ago

Intelligent comment from Omo 9ja !!! Please I appeal to both Ayphilly and deo to stop this. You are both matured and educated guys. You both write impeccable English. Above all you both have passion for the success of the Eagles. Let not trivialties divide us please.

  • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Omo9ja no worries jare padi mi. Him Know me since KON days that I will always expose his sentimental reasonings. Someone that wants an Arsenal and Chelsea players to stay home for a player in the Isreali league???? How wise and smart is that person??? LMAO!!! I laugh like Rohr.

  • Sunnyb 3 years ago

Deo, and  Ayphillydegreat, you guys please calm down, u guys are one of the best for this forum, E jo, let’s  continue to respect  ones opinion. Of course Keshi derailed and became sentimental in is selections  just like that Christian Chukwu. Inviting useless players like Kevin ekweme, Epe Ekong. We are waiting for the so called list. Etebo can play any position of front better than Iwobi and Iheanacho fact.

    • How dare you say that Etebo who plays for a relegating club is better than The Great Britain, English Premier League players Iheanacho and Iwobi?

      This is blasphemy;totally unacceptable!

You will upset some people o!

      Please take it back!

I am just joking Sunny, please don’t take me seriously. Just kidding bro. Lol.

  • Teejay 3 years ago

It is good he is dreaming. He should keep on dreaming. I don’t see this brother bringing anything special, or even better than what we have in attack already.

What sort of football do they play in Israel anyway?

    • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Gbam!!! You’re absolutely spot on I don’t need to say much reasonable people no that already

  • ako amadi 3 years ago

You guys are no real football fans. Just a bunch of bigots veiled under primitive tribal sentiments. But does that surprise anyone? After all you all come from a country called Nigeria.

    • Ako Amadi, I really apologise to you for my conduct bro.

Sorry. Some people just wind you up so much.

But sorry once more bro if my conduct has offended you.

    • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Ako Amadi yes that’s the Nigerian mentality when they feel intimidated they result to get wind up and start insulting you because you’re making perfect sense as to their shallow reasonings.

  • Yes, no logic or point to my views, fine, your views make perfect sense.

Spoken like a true wise man.

A wise man who speaks for others is as dumb as they come.

    Dumb, thick and invariably clueless.

    • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Lol! Lier who do think you’re misleading. Your comments here says it all. We’re not as dumb as you are. We know you all the way from KON. Now you result to lying about your identity because you’re found out LMAO!!!

      • Deluded little brat.

So this is how you have been annoying people and making enemies across platforms…

        I see.

For the sake of the mature people on this platform (whom I have badly let down because of a low life scum like you) I will put an end to this feud and will no longer comment on this platform.

        Good day.

        • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

I started this forum from the beginning and no one can say that I insult them other than to come up with my own constructive analysis. You came here with a shallow mind just to mislead people and contradict yourself all the time. What you say today is not what you will say the next day. Why will I agree with you that an Isreali league player is world-class than an EPL talent? Old boy. Why will I celebrate mediocrity with you? I refuse to let that happen and you’re intimidated right away resulting to insults. No one is as dumb as you are. Now you’ve agreed that you are the deo from KON after lying that you never commented there. Old fool. A fool at 50 plus can never be redeemed. Go and bury your face in a dungeon old fool. House I beg you guys know me that I only come here to analyze critically. Don’t allow shallow minded people mislead you.

          • Dick-head, my only regret is the wonderful people who have to read all of this.

  • What I don’t understand about this feud between deo and Ayphillydegreat is why the CSN moderator here is actually not “moderating” anything at the moment. Or don’t all of these invective, slur and abusive language not break the CSN comment rules? Perhaps the moderator is enjoying all the market insults and having a good laugh.

This story was supposed to be about Anthiny Nwaekeme. Comments here is not 50 long and 90% of them are unbelievable jabs and mud-slinging between deo and Ayphilly. SAD!

Deo and Ayphillydegreat, you guys comment a lot here and I enjoy reading your views, even if I don’t agree with some of them. Diversity is the beauty of any group. That is what is called tolerance. Don’t you guys have it. I’m sorry, but this is market women behaviour. Are you not men that typically hold their tongue and control their temper.

Just like you and everyone else, I’ve had people who challenged my viewpoints and others who praised. Sometimes, no one takes notice or cares. How do I react to each? Most time, nothing. I just grin, grunt or oh-ah in private, but hardly make follow-up comments.

If you guys were arguing in a viewing centre, would you have started exchanging punches already? You guys make me feel so mature, wallahi!

  • CSN , please add an “EDIT” button to your system. I meant to say up there that comments are now 51 long and still counting… yet Deo and AYPhilly has turned this into a boxing ring match. I love you guys and enjoy your comments a lot. Please don’t do this. Don’t disappoint the rest of us.

Severally, I have disagreed with the kingmaker and omo9ja on their clamors for Deseers and the rest, but I still enjoy their analyses even if sometimes I don’t agree. At least, I love their football passion which I think may even be greater than mine.

    • Kel, I apologise unreservedly to you for my conduct.

Please find it in you to forgive me.

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

Spot on @Kel. When this fight between Aphilydegreat and Deo started, I thought it was all a joke and asked CSN to caution them by maybe deleting them cuz CSN instead deletes constructive criticism. I also criticize Kingmaker,Omo9ja and all this Desser’s fan but not in a way to cause unnecessary argument. CSN should please try to moderate thus Comment session when necessary and try to include ‘Like’ button and ‘Edit’ button. God bless CSN

Femi has you can see I was very civil with my comments from the unset, but the old boy felt intimidating and strarted raining abuse on his own children. He was lying and thinking he was misleading himself. Who is fooling who? When he realized he was found out he result to insults. I was one of the pioneers of this forum and everyone know that I only come here to analyze critically with constructive criticism. He has always been like that since the days of KON when he sees that someone has found him out in his comments he will start bitting trees.

Make up with you? Hell no! Why should I make up with someone I don’t know?

          • Okay, okay, okay you got me, I am frightened now i can’t hide it anymore. I am all shook up.

            Kiss and make up?

          • Don’t be like that mate; okay I am offering you a (digital) handshake.

You’ve been quite a formidable foe.

          • Plus, it has got really boring!!

  • Walking 3 years ago

Both of you guys are so immature… Just let it go…. You are more than this…

    • @Walking, I apologise unreservedly for my conduct and all the people this has offended on this platform.

I also apologise to Complete Sports Nigeria for abusing and misusing their platform in such an unacceptable manner.

Quite frankly, I won’t be surprised if their moderators kick me out of this forum as my conduct thoroughly deserve such a robust response from them.

I may have been aggravated, but it is no excuse for the kind of language I have made the readers of this prestigious platform endure in the last few days.

So, once more, I humbly apologise to everyone.

One of the reasons why I always visit CSN is because of the comment section and because I enjoy reading everybody’s opinion when it comes to super eagles of Nigeria but now am not seeing dat brotherhood bond among us again. All these insults are not necessary and our family and generations should not be involve in this feud. Let’s respect everyone’s opinion always believing dat cultural differences, educational differences and even our school of thought differs from one another. Pls love your neighbor as yourself

Ayphill degreat and Deo, you guys should not go to bed tonight… Continue with your war of words… If you guys fail to do so, a very big shame on you guys bcos the two of you really fall my hand today! So Ride On!!!!!!!!

  • Festus Eruo 3 years ago

Hey guys, those two wont stop! It’s been like that since the days of KON where fans neglect the argument but rather face peoples´personalities. Like one contributor insinuated earlier, this whole war of insults just make me realise how mature I am right now. And that is a fact!

  • Why all dis fight na my brodas @deo and @Aphilydegreat
    stop dis war of word,
Buhari is de cause of all dis wit his badluck.
He should’nt com back to 9igeria and pas there to daura.

    • Bomboy 3 years ago

@ Oluwa, you want to start another fight? Why mention B uhari? The topic will soon change from sports to politics. Some readers in this forum (not me) may be madly in love with their president. Cheers everyone.

  • I dont mean a fight oo

Ayphillydegreat and @Deo, you guys have really made a shame of yourselves to a meteoric proportion.
Divergence of opinions shouldn’t have warranted these guttersnipish exchanges and reactions from you both.
Now tell us all, at the end of the mudslinging, what have you both gained? Has it actuated the invitation of your favourite players or something?
I guess you both are elderly and should not have been soaked up in this infantile and assinine conduct.
I used to know you both from your days at KON, though I was an anonymous follower. The passion, gusto and panache with which you commentors on that forum analysed football really mentored and goarded me in my “formative years” to now become a sports analyst with a state television station here in Nigeria, just when I came of age.And now this from you guys!!!!.Una really fall my hands,no be small.
The council of elders of this forum have passed a verdict that you both bury the hatchet and let go of the slovenly [email protected] has offered you,@Ayphilly an olive branch, which you must accept.
In addendum, it was resolved that you both write eachother an apology epistle-which medium of communication must be this platform-tendering eachother unreserved apology, regretting your actions and promising never to travel down this ignoble and shameful lane.

  • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

@ all my great brethren. I sincerely apologise for all the hullabaloo going on over the last couple days. I really didn’t meant it that way until it was all blown out of proportion. I promise never to indulge in such provocative and disparage exchange as long as this forum exist. Once again I sincerely apologise. To honest though I was kinda surprised that CSN did not moderate or delete all the exchanges between me and my sparing partner. @deo I accept your digital handshake lol! We’re all free to air our opinions without any kind of fuse whatsoever. I enjoy your comments as much as anyone, but we’re all free to either agree or disagree without any animosity. Once again to both CSN and my fellow brethrens I sincerely apologise.

I dont get why complete sports are campaigning for this guy.. could it be that CS is getting some form of incentives frm dz guy.

Look at the league he is playing in.. we asked for a world class striker not a dreamer or a clown.

If i recall correctly dz dude had his chance to impress against algeria and he floped.

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

Now I see why CSN has refused to act on this Aphillydegreat and Deo’s clash. You think is easy to get 140+ comment on a particular post?? Lol…I guess that more money to their account. Bloggers will understand what am saying. Anyway, good to know that the two fighting parties have apologised to everyone. CSN please give us update on the 35-man list. Thanks in ad

I have learnt a lot today when one sits with the elders one tends to gain a lot

  • Spot on @Chairmanfemo. It’s all “business” for CSN. Deo and Ayphilly has succesfully boosted the site’s visitor traffic, which is a big plus for their web SEO, PPA clickrate and value and Alexa rankings.

Those in the SEO/web flow business will understand my “jargon.” In online web business, controversy is often a “good business.” How smart!

Next month’s world cup will be another honeymoon + bumper season for them with comments/traffic stretching as long as 200. How do you think the big guns like Linda get so rich?

  • Tgrace 3 years ago

ahhh! At 1st I felt embarrassed because @Aphillydgreat was like a mentor to be with always anytime I come to CSN, even to the extent of supporting your comment on http://www.Zambiafootball.com can I value ur comment anymore? sir, am glad you resolve this issue. To @Deo I have nothing to say bcos I now have reasons not to value your comments again. Finally, you guys resolve it good but I notice that those reading our comment here are more than people commenting it a pity non can stop this when it was cool and when it was worm. @Aphillydgreat I still want you to beg Deo and also @Deo should do the same because am a small guy following ur critical analysis of our beloved super eagles because I have no club all what I support in football is Nigeria’s national teams both the male team and female team. Sincerely, I love you both and all CSN followers because it was on this site a great lover of Super Eagles have to mail me personally this is why I love coming here. We are not all Nigerians here some other country men are reading and gaining from the great magnitude of the kind of love we have toward our dear Super Eagles. Sir Aphillydgreat and Sir Deo please make me love your ideology of love toward the Super Eagles again love you much more sirs.

    • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Tgrace. Please accept my apologies. It was just in the heat of the moment and I also apologise to my friend @ deo and to all my fellow forumites. It’s all because both me and deo fanatically love the SuperEagles so much that we can go to any length for our darling SuperEagles. We both want the team to succeed at all costs. Having watched the great team of the 90s therefore, the bar as been set higher that whenever the team struggle or some players struggle we tend to be frustrated, as I’ve witnessed while watching the team during my formative years. In all reality the SuperEagles is the only thing that unite Nigerians together when the team is winning. Once again I apologise to you and deo and all my fellow forumites.

    • Hi Tgrace,

I echo Ayphillythegreat’s comments above and endorse all his points. Once again, allow me to apologise for our conducts.

We know we let ourselves down but most of all, we let you and all distinguished guests of this great platform down.

Be rest assured that this will not repeat itself from us .

      Stay blessed.

  • Paschal 3 years ago

The two comments above are the most heart warming comments for me today. I will not be happy if deo and ayphilly are taken down from the csn site. I am happy they have both apologized and are willing to let peace reign. Please guys we love you dont give the devil a chance. God bless Nigeria.
