Nigeria international and Arsenal star, Kelechi Nwakali, has sent a goodwill message to the Super Eagles as they prepare to intensify training for the 2018 World Cup final in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The former captain of the Golden Eaglets called on the players to ensure that Nigeria is well represented at the FIFA tournament.
He said despite the fact that the Eagles were grouped with tough opposition, the players are experienced enough to hold their own against any team.
According to the attacking midfielder, the results of Super Eagles in some of the friendly matches played recently should boost their morale on the task ahead.
“We should not be among the teams that would make up the numbers at the World Cup, instead we should be among the teams that will make it interesting because we have all it takes,” Nwakali told CSN.
He said a good result in the opening game against Croatia will help lift the confidence level of the team.
Speaking about his career, Nwakali said he is looking forward to playing regularly in the coming season for Arsenal after playing 18 games during the season on loan at MVV Maastricht in the Netherlands and scoring 4goals from his midfield position.
