The 2017 Nigeria Women’s Football League’s Super Four tournament has been scheduled to hold in Benin, Edo State from September 11 to September 16, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The tournament will feature four outstanding teams from the regular season and they are Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Angels, Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels.
According to the Chairperson of Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode, the four teams in the tournament will play round-robin games as the best two will clash in the final where winner will emerge.
Nasarawa Amazons will face Delta Queens in the first game while Rivers Angels will clash with Bayelsa Queens in the second game of the opening day.
Falode said after the draw: “I am glad that the team’s that qualified for the Super Four have really worked hard to make it. I am also proud to say that women’s football is developing in Nigeria but we still have a lot more to do and we are not going to rest.
“This is an opportunity for us as well to get quality players for the Super Falcons.”
Winners of the tournament sponsored by Edo State Government will smile home with N3million while second placed team will be rewarded with N2million.
