–Eagles star delighted over Belgium move
Uche Nwofor has said he hopes to help lift new club Lierse, who are rock bottom of the Belgian league after six matches.
Nigeria international Nwofor joined Lierse as a free agent after he cancelled his contract with Dutch second division club VVV Venlo.
The 22-year-old Nigeria international has signed a contract till the end of the season.
However, Lierse are bottom of the 16-team table with four points.
Ex-Enugu Rangers and Shooting Stars striker Nwofor said he believes that if Lierse played as a team, they would move up the table.
“They are low on the table, but hopefully we will come out of there,” Nwofor said.
“Most importantly, we going to do this as a team, we have to work as a team. We can achieve more as a team.”
He said he is delighted that like his previous club VVV, Lierse also sport a black and yellow playing kit.
“I am delighted to join this club. My agent spoke to me about this club. I don’t know the team too well,” he said.
