Former Nigeria captain, Henry Nwosu believes that the idea of the best Nigerian players for the Super Eagles is the only way that can help Coach Sunday Oliseh to succeed as the senior national team manager.
Oliseh said earlier in the week that some of the National U-23 Eagles players would be given the opportunity to play for the national team. Nwosu commends the ex-international for rescinding his earlier decision.
“I think it is a new development from Oliseh and I want to believe that with this new decision, he is set to achieve success because not all the players we have in top leagues are regular for their clubs, but with the idea of looking at the exceptional talents in the U-23 Eagles, and the Flying Eagles for the Super Eagles, I am sure that Nigerian football will excel,” says the former National team assistant coach.
“It will also be a great opportunity for the players to develop their talents and with the competition such will create in the Super Eagles, I am sure that every players will want to work really hard to make sure they give their best.
“I will also urge the players that will be invited to give their best because this will be opportunity they have been waiting for and they must make good use of it,” he added.
The Super Eagles will face Tanzania on September 5 Dar es Salam in a 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier and Oliseh will be banking on his squad to make his first outing as Eagles coach a memorable one.
