Wikki Tourists forward, Godwin Obaje and his Enugu Rangers counterpart, Chisom Egbuchulam are delighted with their invitation to the Super Eagles for Sunday's Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying fixture against Zambia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Obaje, who was the top scorer with 18 goals in the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League season, and Egbuchulam who finished behind him with 16 goals, were called up by Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, as replacements for injured duo; Victor Moses and Isaac Success.
It is the first time they have been invited to play for the three- time African champions and they are both excited with the challenge.
"I'm happy with my invitation to the Super Eagles. It's a reward for the hardwork and my good performance for my club, Wikki Tourits, during the season," 19-year old Obaje told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"It's a big opportunity for me to show that my performance for Wikki was no fluke and I hope to make the best use of the chance.
"There are a lot of good strikers in the team, but I want to prove to the coaches that I deserve to be a part of the team on a regular basis."
Egbuchulam who is buzzing with confidence at the moment after helping Rangers win their seventh league title and scoring a hat-trick on the final day,msays he is fired up for the challenge of playing for the national team.
"It is big honour and I'm delighted with the chance to be part of the national team," Egbuchulam told Completesprtsnigeria.com.
"It's my first invitation to the Super Eagles. I want to enjoy every moment of it and hopefully, it will not be the last."
