Nigeria Professional Football League All-star duo; Austin Obaroakpo and Dare Ojo, say it is important for the side to do well in the La Liga tour in order to enhance the profile of the Nigerian league, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Nigerian league selection will take on Valencia in their first game of the tour today (Wednesday), and then file out against Malaga in the semi-finals of the Ramon de Carranza Trophy invitational Tournament on Friday.
It is the first time a Nigerian selected side will be facing some of the best side's in the Spanish football, and the players are willing to show that there are abundant talents in the Nigerian league.
"It's a big chance for us to show the world what we can do and that we have quality players in the league," Abia Warriors captain, Obaroakpo told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"Valencia and Malaga are two of the best sides in Spanish Football and a big performance against them will make the world respect us."
Enyimba midfielder Dare Ojo also charged his side to give their all in the encounter and do the Nigerian league proud.
"We are looking forward to the first game against Valencia and also hope to get the chance to play Atletico Madrid in the final of the invitational tournament.
"We have enough quality players in the team and we will show our quality out there."
