–Nigerian kid player looks forward to professional deal in Spain
Golden Eaglets Midfielder, Chigozie Obasi has signed a preliminary contract with Deportivo La Coruna of Spain.
After impressing the coaches at Deportivo La Coruna during trials, the Nigeria youth international was rewarded with a preliminary contract.
The Golden Eaglet traveled to Spain on July 20 for the start of pre – season training with the La Liga newcomers and was lucky enough to catch attention from officials after a string of fine performances in the test matches he played.
”I have signed a preliminary contract with Deportivo La Coruna. I feel happy signing the pre -contract because I did my best since I came here.
”I created a lot of chances and they were happy with my performance. I had many options before choosing Deportivo La Coruna but I feel this is the best club for me because they have a good program for me,” ,’the 16 – year – old told only SL10.ng.
He added: ”I am looking forward to signing a professional contract when I am 18. And I hope to make the first team because I am ready to do my best.”
The central midfielder was linked with possible moves to Recreativo de Huelva, Real Avilés and Auxerre after the 2013 FIFA U-17 Championship, where he featured in two matches.
