Oboabona Shines For Rizespor, Aiyegbeni Wins; Aluko Loses With Hull

Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona played for 90 minutes and helped his side Rizespor to a 0-0 home draw against Konyaspor in Friday’s Turkish League clash.


Former Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni was introduced for Derley with seven minutes left in Kayserispor’s 2-1 away win against Bursaspor.

Derley and Zeki Yavru scored for Kayserispor, while Dany Nounkeu got Bursaspor’s only goal.


Still in Turkey, Nigerian player Aminu Umar was in action for Osmanlispor who held Antalyaspor to a 1-1 draw away.

Umar later made way for Erdal Kilicarsian in the 77th minute.

Pape Alioune Ndiaye had put Osmanlispor ahead on 62 minutes before former Africa Footballer of the Year Samuel Eto’o equalised for Antalyaspor in the 85th minute.

In the English Championship Sone Aluko, Chuba Akpom and Moses Odubajo were in action in Hull City’s 2-0 home loss to Derby County.

A brace from Jacob Butterfield in the 18th and 34th minutes sealed the win for Derby.

Aluko and Akpom were both introduced in the 75th minute for Curtis Davies and Moses Odubajo respectively.

In the Dutch Eredivisie, former Eagles forward Bartholomew Ogbeche made an appearance for Cambuur who lost 3-2 at to De Graafschap.

And in Denmark, Alhaji Gero was overlooked for selection for Viborg as he was an unused substitute in their 1-0 home win against AGF.
