Obuh To F/Eagles: Be Ready For Ghana War!

Former Nigeria U-20 National team handler, John Obuh has urged the Flying Eagles to be well prepared for real war as they confront their Ghana counterparts in today’s Africa Youth Championship, AYC semi final clash in Senegal.

Obuh who guided the team to the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey, has predicted that Ghana will pose quite a hard nut to crack, more so given the fact that both teams have met in a two-legged friendly in Accra weeks ago.

“There’s no doubt the match will be tough and Flying Eagles should drum this into their ears”, Obuh warned.

“Ghana are Nigeria’s most bitter rivals in football. And they will always prefer to beat Nigeria and lose to any other opposition.

“So, we should not be deceived by the fact the Eagles beat them 2-0 in the second of their two friendly games in Accra prior to the AYC.

“I’ve it on good authority that they did not field their key players in the second match which the Flying Eagles won 2-0.

“So to ensure victory today, the Eagles should try to bring out the ‘Nigerian spirit’ in them and super-impose themselves on the Ghanaians in the game.

“If they do this, for sure, as I always have that confidence in the team, the Eagles will win and if they can overcome Ghana today, they can excel in the final and even do much better in the World Cup”, Obuh who was a FIFA U-17 World Cup silver medalist in 2009 said.
