Obuh Upbeat Rangers Are Pushing For The Top

Enugu Rangers manager, John Obuh says the Flying Antelopes could be aiming for the top three finish in the Glo Premier League after over coming their initial poor run in the campaign.

Rangers were earlier under the clutches of relegation grip, standing 16th on the log but a run of five unbeaten games has seen the Coal City side move up to the 12th position with 42 points.

After holding Akwa United to a scoreless draw in Uyo on Sunday, Obuh said top three finish could be possible as they aim to keep winning their games.

“I can say yes and no at the same time”, re torts the former Flying Eagles handler.

“We still have eight game on the fixtures so if we keep winning our games, why not.

“The fact are eight points behind leaders can make one say it might be difficult but then let’s continue picking points home and away and we’ll see how it goes”.

The draw at Akwa makes it 11 points the Coal City side has garnered out of a possible 15 and Obuh heaped plaudits on the match officials for a decent performance.

“It was a good but tough game, the match officials were excellent and displayed high level of professionalism, fairness and firmness.

“The only low point in the game was the nature of the pitch which did not allow free flow of the game.

“It did not allow players freedom of expression on the ball”.
