Stephen Odey scored his second UEFA Europa League goal of the season on Thursday for FC Zurich’s 1-1 draw away to Ludogoret Razgrad of Bulgaria in a match day six encounter in group A reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Odey shot his side into the lead in the 21st minute.
The goal took Odey’s tally to 11 so far this season in all competitions.
Jakub Swierczok drew the hosts, Ludogoret Razgrad level minutes before half-time.
It was Odey’s sixth appearance in the competition. The result sees FC Zurich advance to the round of 32 of the competition finishing second.
In the other group game Bayer Leverkusen defeated AEK Larnaca 5-1 to finish as group leaders with 13 points from six games.
In group C, Samuel Kalu was an unused substitute in Bordeaux’s 1-0 win away at FC Copenhagen.
Jimmy Brian’s scored the only goal of the encounter in the 74th minute.
Despite the win Bordeaux finished third in the group with seven points from six games.
Kalu has made six appearances for Bordeaux in the competition.
In the other group C game, Slavia Prague spanked Zenith St Petersburg 2-0 to finish second in the group in ten points, one points adrift leader, Zenith.
Alex Iwobi was left out of Arsenal’s side that edged Qarabag 1-0 at the Emirates stadium.
Alexandre Lacazette scored the opener in the 16th minute of the game. It was Arsenal’s fifth clean sheet in the competition.
Iwobi has appeared four games for Arsenal in the Europa league competition so far this term and has provided two assists.
In all he has featured 10 times since he made his debut against Cologne in September 2017.
Dinamo Zagreb and Anderlecht played out a goalless draw in Croatia while Spartak Trvana defeated Fenerbache 1-0.
The final group B game saw Celtic lost 2-1 at home to Salzburg while RB Leipzig drew 1-1 with Rosenburg.
AC Milan lost 3-1 away to Olympiakos while Real Betis were held to goalless draw away at F91 Dudelange.
Teams through to the round of 32 are: Fenerbahçe,Galatasaray, Sevilla, Real Betis, Valencia, Villarreal, Arsenal, Chelsea, Inter, Napoli Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen.
Others include, Benfica,RB Salzburg,Zenit St Petersburg, Dinamo Zagreb, Dinamo Kiev and Genk.
