Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC striker Steven Odey has declared himself ready for an invitation to the Super Eagles 'Grade A' team that comprise mostly of the foreign-based legion, but admits that starting with the home-based side is not a bad idea,
Speaking exclusively to Completesportsnigeria.com on Thursday, the Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer with 12 goals insists that he is good enough to make an immediate impact in Gernot Rhor's team.
"To start with, I want to appreciate those who believe in me. And to answer your question, yes I think I can play in the main Super Eagles that have mostly overseas-based players," Odey stated.
"However I'm humble enough to start with the home-based side for the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers if the coaches extend an invitation to me.
"I'm glad I'm scoring for my club and leading the scorers chart, but it is still the coaches that decide who gets invited and who eventually plays.
"If I have the opportunity I'll be part of the team. I will be under pressure to prove myself, no doubt, but I would just have to do what I know how to do best," Odey enthused.
