Oduamadi, Babatunde: U-23 Eagles’ll Qualify From Group B

Former Olympic internationals, Nnamdi Oduamadi and Michael Babatunde have both backed the U-23 Eagles to qualify for the sem‎i-finals despite their lacklustre 2-2 draw against Egypt on Wednesday in the on-going CAF U-23 AFCON in Senegal, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Oghenekaro Etebo scored twice from the spot to hand the Dream Team VI a 2-0 lead, but the Samson Siasia's side could not hold on to the lead as the young Pharaohs scored twice ten minutes after the restart.

A shocked Oduamadi who was an unused substitute in AC Milan's 3-1 win over Crotone on Tuesday said though it was sad they could not see off the game having been two goals up, the team will get the needed point to qualify for the semi-finals.

"Wow they didn't hold on to their lead!‎ I'm sure they'll qualify for the semi-finals‎. All they need is to avoid a defeat.

"But they must stay focussed to get wins,'' Oduamadi who missed the inaugural edition in Morocco in 2011 due to club engagements told Completesportsnigeria.com.

Babatunde who was part of the Dream Team V however tasked the team not to give up following their setback against Egypt.

"Thank God they didn't lose. They got a point and are in contention for the semi-finals," Babatunde told Completesportsnigeria.com

"They have it in them and I pray they surpass our feat of not qualifying for the Olympics in 2012,"  Babatunde who has scored twice in five games for Dnipro this term urged the team.
