Oduamadi Leaves Milan After 11 Years, In Talks With Fortuna Düsseldorf

By Johnny Edward:

Nigerian forward, Nnamdi Oduamadi, has parted ways with Italian giants AC Milan eleven years after they signed first contract,  Completesportsnigeria.comreports.

The 27 year old winger whose deal expires this summer joined the club in 2011 and made only one substitute appearance for the Rossoneri during the 2010/11 season when they won the Italian Serie A under Carlo Ancelotti.

The  Flying Sports Academy product was sent out on loan to Torino, Varese, Crotone, Latina, Brescia and HJK Helsinki during his time at the club.

Oduamadi thanks the club for the confidence they reposed in him and the opportunity to represent the club.

“It’s been an amazing 11 years journey for me,” Oduamadi wrote in a long post on his Instagram page.

“Journey of success, trials and winning. I want to thank AC Milan for believing in me when I was signed 11 years ago. I count it a privilege to wear and play in this great club’s Jersey.

“I want to thank them for their ever so strong support towards my career. They have shown me love like a family but unfortunately a time comes when you get to move on.

“Moving on, I appreciate this club and all her historic achievements. Thanks so much to the fans and friends I have made here.

“I will miss this family and wish it the very best. Looking forward to what the bright future holds for me.”

Completesportsnigeria.com can also report that the former Torino, Crotone, Latina, Brescia and HJK Helsinki forward is currently negotiating a deal with German side, Fortuna Dusseldorf.

  • Blessed with blistering pace and a decent work rate, Oduamadi has what it takes to have been a Super Eagles legend.

Yet, Oduamadi has only managed less than 14 caps with 4 goals for Nigeria over the years.

His single most significant key moment for the Super Eagles came on the 23rd of March 2013.

On that day, Nigeria, who had recently become the champions of Africa, were losing 0:1 at home to a stubborn Kenya in a world cup qualifying match.

With Keshi visibly anxious, he threw in Oduamadi whose ferocious shot off a throw-in crashed the back of the net in 90 minutes.

    1:1 it ended.

Oduamadi would not make the final 23 man squad to the same world cup that he helped the nation qualify for.
