Ogbeche Sets Cambuur Goal Record

Bartholomew Ogbeche scored an injury-time goal to become Cambuur’s leading Eredivisie goalscorer as they drew 1-1 with Excelsior.

The 30-year-old netted three minutes into stoppage time to earn the The Yellow-Blues a point at Cambuur Stadion.

Henk de Jong’s side went into the match after four successive home league wins but a fine strike from Adil Auassar on 53 minutes looked as though it might spoil the party. But former Nigeria hit-man Ogbeche, who played for Middlesbrough in their 2011-2012 Championship campaign, pounced late to make sure the spoils were shared and, in doing so, took his top-flight tally to 15 goals – 13 this season – a new Cambuur record.
