By Adeboye Amosu: Dutch club Willem II Tiburg will await further tests to determine the extent of the injury sustained by Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ogbeche picked up a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s Dutch Cup clash against RKC Waalwijk and was substituted in the first half.
Willem II won the game 3-0 to progress into the last four of the competition.
“He has hamstring complaints. If it is a strain or something more, we still have to look at it, which is difficult to assess right after the match,” Willem II manager Erwin van de Looi told Voetbalkrant.com.
The 33-year-old Ogbeche, who was in Nigeria’s squad to the 2002 World Cup, has been in fantastic form in recent weeks and has netted eight times in his last eight league games for the club.
The striker has been plagued by injuries in recent years and the club will also hope this latest injury is not a serious one.
