Ogu Eyes Third Straight Israeli League Title In “Toughest Season”

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu says he is looking forward to winning his third straight Israeli league title with Hapoel Beer-Sheva when they host Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Championship play-offs on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Hapoel currently top the six-team play-off round with 11 points after five games.

In second position are Beitar Jerusalem on seven points, while Maccabi Tel Aviv are third also on seven points.

Hapoel will be crowned league winners with a win against Maccabi Tel Aviv with a game to spare in the play-offs.

“Winning takes talent, to repeat takes character. Chasing my 3rd League title in a row,” Ogu tweeted on Friday.

“A win tomorrow gets us the title. Toughest season for me professionally and personally but I am Grateful to God for always there for me whenever I call!!”

Another good news is that Joel Obi is back to training with his Torino team mates. Making a recovery in time for training camp. With Etebo just coming back from a similar injury and Ndidi recovering from hamstring. Ogu is in a good position to make the final 23. Although he’s going to be a backup if those formers are fully fit for the WorldCup. We have a very solid midfield options to pick from, getting the right blend that will understand each other going forward is the only challenge which I’m sure a three weeks training camp should be able to figure that out.

Will you pick him ahead of Obi or Etebo? not even Agu write it down.

      Our coach knows his onions.
