As reactions continue to pour in following the failure of the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2015 AFCON, Hapoel Beer Sheva midfielder John Ogu has advised Nigerians to put the disappointment behind them and look to the future, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ogu who joined the Israeli side from Academica de Coimbra, however expressed sadness that the Eagles will not be able to defend their trophy.
“Sad we couldn’t be there to defend the title, but God knows best. Let’s think about the future. God bless Nigeria,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
The Eagles failed to secure all three points against South Africa after being forced to a 2-2 draw.
Tokelo Rantie scored in each half to put the visitors two goals ahead before Hull City’s Sone Aluko grabbed a brace in the second half to level the score.
Congo Brazzaville qualified alongside South Africa for the AFCON holding in Equatorial Guinea next year.
