Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s Nigerian midfielder John Ogu has been named in the Israeli team of season for the just concluded campaign Ligat ha’Al.
The Nigerian international, who is on the verge of extending his stay at the club, is the only African on the shortlist and was also adjudged the best foreign player in the out-going season.
Ogu who is expected in the Super Eagles camp on Tuesday however thanked God and everyone who made his debut season a memorable one.
“It is a great honour to be among the best 11 of the Season ..Thank You Great GOD,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I want to say a big thank you to GOD and my family and to everyone who made this possible. It’s an honour. GOD bless.”
Ogu scored four goals in 41 games this term in all competitions.
The 26-year-old was a standout performer for Hapoel Beer Sheva who missed on the league title and the State FA Cup.
