Ogu Promises More Goals For Hapoel Beer-Sheva, Eyes Europa Win

Ogu Promises More Goals For Hapoel Beer-Sheva, Eyes Europa Win

By Johnny Edward:
Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu believes that there is more to come from him after he opened his Israeli Premier League goal account this season for Hapoel Beer-Sheva in their 3-1 win over Hapoel Ra’anana on Saturday.
Ogu sealed his side’s win in the 87th minute, firing in a fierce strike from the edge of the box after goals from Isaac Cuenca and Amir Khalaila cancelled out an early opener from Shimon Abuhatzira.
“It’s always pleasing to score and you can expect more from me as I have the license to move forward when we (Hapoel Beer-Sheva) attack,” Ogu told Completesportsnigeri.com.
“Expect more goals from me.”
Ogu also hopes his side maintain their momentum when they host Steaua Bucaresti in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League game.
Hapoel Beer-Sheva lost 3-1 to Victoria Plzen on matchday 2 after beating FC Lugano 2-1 on matchday 1.
“We have just one win in the group and we need to bounce back from that defeat to Plzen to stand a chance of getting out of the group,” Out, who has been in the Nigeria squad as they claimed a Russia 2018 World Cup ticket, added.
Hapoel Beer-Sheva are third in Europa League Group G table behind leaders Steaua Bucaresti with three points and tied with the same points and goals difference with second-placed Victoria Plzen.

  • I Dnt Thnk Genorth Rohr Can Differentiate Between Ogu And Agu

  • @Ola Mansur. You are right. It seems the coach does not know the difference between Agu and Ogu. Agu would have caused us the vs Zambia match. He got a yellow without wasting time and common sense should tell you on yellow card to be more careful. Agu was still going in as if nothing go happen. He was just an inch from red card with his tackles. No brain but all brow. Ogu is preferred.

  • the coach sees all players from close quarters..he knows better why Ogu is behind in the pecking order..good thing is that he is performing with his selection…I remember how Nigerian fans use to vilify a certain Garba Lawal yet he is always in the 1st 11 of every coach we had then…as long as Agu is delivering for Rohr and we are getting results I am less perturbed.Ogu should work on improving himself by moving from the Isreali league to a better league then he could stand a better chance…we all know that say for goalkeepers we hardly invite players from the Israeli league.I feel our football hasn’t gotten as bad as that…In fact, Ogu got his call cos of the team’s participation in the Europa league…Ogu has won the league 2 times in Russia and has nothing to prove over there..he should be brave to go for new challenges
