Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has set his sights on returning to the national team after winning his second man of the match award in six games.
The former Academica player who churned out another impressive display for his Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva in their2-0 win at home to Maccabi Haifa last night told Complete Sports he’s ready to return after being left out of the squad by erstwhile boss Stephen Keshi.
“It’s at the back of my mind, that’s only normal with my form,” said Ogu. “If I keep doing what I’m doing for Hapoel Beer Sheva, then we’ll see what happens.
“Everyone wants to get a run in the team. But it’s difficult, we have a big squad. The manager knows that. When called upon I’ll be ready.
“Like I said before, all I can do when I get the chance is do what I do best and score goals.”
The 26 year old combative midfielder has played all six games of Hapoel Beer Sheva in the league this season. They are now second on the log with 14 points, two adrift leaders Shmona who have 16.
