Newly appointed head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Gbenga Ogunbote, insists he can help steer the club to safety despite the Oluyole Warlords occupying the last position on the Glo Premier League log.
The coach performed the same task when he joined Sharks three years ago, helping the Blue Angels maintain their topflight status following a poor start which cost then handler of the Port Harcourt-based outfit, Austin Eguaveon, his job.
The former Sunshine Stars of Akure gaffer told completesportsnigeria.com that he is unperturbed by the enormity of the task before him, expressing confidence he can turn things around at the club.
“I must confess the task before us is enormous but I believe with hardwork and dedication, we can turn things around,” Ogunbote said.
“We have played only 10 games and there is still a long way to go which means we have 28 games to turn things around.
“It’ s sad that we can’t bring in new players to fortify the team, but we will surely do that when the window reopens.”
Ogunbote will take charge of 3SC for the first in a competitive game against Lobi Stars of Makurdi on Sunday at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
