Nigerian striker Stanley Ohawuchi was on target for Zamalek in Friday’s CAF Champions League Group B clash as the Egyptian club defeated CAPS United 2-0, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ohawuchi sealed the win for his side in the 83rd minute after Basem Morsi had given them the lead in the 53rd minute at Borg El-Arab Stadium.
In the other Group game, USM Alger defeated Al Ahli Tripoli 3-0 to top the group on superior goal difference.
In the Premier Soccer League in South Africa, Daniel Akpeyi was in action for Chippa United who lost 1-0 away to Highlands Park.
It was Chippa’s fourth consecutive defeat.
Akpeyi, who has made 26 appearances for Chippa this season, was beaten from the spot by Collins Mbesuma in the 65th minute of the encounter.
Ighodaro Osaguona came on in the 60th minute for Nicolas Verdier and failed to score for KV Mechelen in their 2-0 loss to Standard Liege. It was the Nigerian striker’s seventh appearance for the club.
In the Turkish Super Lig, Raheem Lawal scored in his second straight game as he bagged the winner for Kayserispor in their 2-1 home win over Konyaspor. The Nigerian midfielder had scored twice in Kayserispor’s 3-2 win over Trabzonspor last Saturday. Lawal has now scored five league goals in 16 matches.
Also in Turkey, Bright Edomwonyi made his 13th appearance for Rizespor in Friday’s 4-2 loss to Kasimpasa who paraded Emem Eduok for the whole game.
Nosa Igiebor also came on for Jakob Jantscher in his 11th appearance for the club while Godfrey Oboabona was an unused substitute in the encounter.
